The Cadillac LYRIQ 2023 is Cadillac’s first all-electric vehicle, with plans to offer all-electric vehicles by 2030.
Here are five things to know about it.
More than 500 km of autonomy
The Cadillac LYRIQ 2023, the luxury American brand’s first 100% electric vehicle, will have a range just above the psychological mark of 500 kilometres.
At its debut, the LYRIQ will only be offered in a rear-wheel-drive version. Thanks to its battery of around 100 kWh, the LYRIQ can travel a distance of 502 kilometres, according to figures from Natural Resources Canada.
This data places the vehicle in a good position against competitors such as the BMW iX (491 to 521 km), the Jaguar I-PACE (357 km) and the Tesla Model Y (449 to 531 km).
When it comes to power, the 2023 LYRIQ offers 340 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque. Will then add A more efficient version with an all-wheel drive will then be added to the lineup. This one will produce around 500 horsepower and can tow loads up to 3,500 lbs.
The Cadillac LYRIQ is built on the Ultium platform and will use to develop future General Motors electric vehicles, including the GMC Hummer EV and Chevrolet Silverado EV.
Charging time of Cadillac LYRIQ 2023
Using a level 2 terminal, it is possible to fully recharge the LYRIQ battery in 6.5 hours, according to Natural Resources Canada data. When fitted with an optional 19 kW Level 2 residential charging module, customers can get up to 84 km of range per hour.
On the other hand, a 190 kW fast charging station allows you to regain around 122 kilometres in ten minutes.
Cadillac LYRIQ 2023 Futuristic design
In terms of design, Cadillac has put the package in the design of this model. Being an electric model, the LYRIQ sports a full, illuminated grille that evokes a black crystal shield. Vertical LED headlights surround everything.
The rear lights echo the style perceived at the front of the vehicle, and the roof is completely glazed. The LYRIQ is fitted with 20-inch rims, and 22-inch wheels are optional for the rear-drive variant.
Customers can choose from Satin Steel Metallic, Stellar Black Metallic, Opulent Blue Metallic or Crystal White exterior colours and Cool Sky Gray or Black for the interior.
Lots of technology (Google services & AKG Studio audio system)
On board is a huge curved screen that measures 33 inches. The multimedia system includes integrated Google services and a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system for speakers inserted into the headrest.
In addition, the racing car has a noise-cancelling function. It is used in particular to improve the soundproofing of the passenger compartment.
Let’s not forget that the LYRIQ incorporates Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving technology (optional). The vehicle comes with a series of active and passive safety technologies – a Smart System – such as the automatic emergency braking system with the pedestrian detection system.
The Cadillac LYRIQ 2023 costs $69,898 (including freight), which makes it ineligible for provincial and federal subsidies. Distribution of the rear-wheel-drive grinds is slated to begin this fall.
Pricing for the all-wheel-drive version will be revealed later, and initial delivery is anticipated in early 2023.
