Xiaomi plans to produce 120,000 units of its electric sedan this year as demand continues to soar. Learn more about Xiaomi’s latest production goals in the electric vehicle market.
Xiaomi Aims for 120,000 Units in 2024
With the success of the SU7 electric sedan, Xiaomi has adjusted its production targets. The company now plans to produce 120,000 units in 2024, a 20% increase from the initial plan of 100,000 units. This growth is made possible by the implementation of a second production team.
Orders for the Xiaomi SU7 continue to rise each week. In April alone, Xiaomi delivered 7,058 electric sedans. With its strong supply chain management, the brand is making a significant impact in the industry. This rapid growth is impressive for a company new to the automotive sector.
A Remarkable Start for the First Year
By the end of May, Xiaomi had already delivered 10,000 SU7 units. The company aims to accelerate production to 10,000 units in June and further increase to 20,000 units per month. By the end of 2024, Xiaomi plans to have a network of 219 distributors in 46 cities and 143 repair centers across 86 cities in China.
To meet the high demand for the model, production in double shifts will begin in June. The factory will operate for 16 hours a day instead of the current 8 hours. Customers currently waiting for their SU7 orders may experience a wait of at least 30 weeks for delivery.
