Always more, that’s how to summarize the facelift of the e-tron GT: more horses, more range, more charging power.
A few months after the Porsche Taycan, it’s now Audi’s turn to update its technical equivalent. This update brings a boost in power. In fact, the base version with less than 500 hp is disappearing.
The range now starts with a new S variant, with 500 kW, which is 679 hp! Next up is the RS version, which goes up to 630 kW, or 858 hp. At the top end of the lineup, the RS performance reaches 680 kW, which is 925 hp, simply a record for a production Audi!
This top version goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds! On the RS models, a boost function adds 70 kW of power for ten seconds (by pressing a button on the steering wheel). The S is not much slower, with 3.4 seconds.
The e-tron GT models have a larger battery: 105 kWh of gross capacity and 95 kWh of net capacity. However, the battery weight has decreased by 9 kg (to 625 kg). The maximum range of the range in WLTP cycle increases to 609 km (previously 501 km). The regenerative braking has been improved, with the maximum power increased from 290 to 400 kW.
For charging, in direct current, the peak has been increased from 270 to 320 kW. Under ideal conditions, you can get 280 km of range in 10 minutes. Charging from 10 to 80% takes 18 minutes. Among other technical evolutions, a new pneumatic suspension is now standard.
In terms of looks, there is no radical facelift. The main changes are to the grille and the bumper around it, with larger air intakes on the RS version. The performance version can have dark carbon elements (like the roof). There are new colors and unique wheels (20 or 21 inches). Inside, an observant eye will notice the changed steering wheel (with two flat sides). The redesigned seats include an illuminated logo. The glass roof can be opaque.
The new models are available to order from June 20. The price of the Audi S e-tron GT starts at €128,250, the RS e-tron GT at €162,400, and the RS e-tron GT performance at €175,350.
