The definitive version of the Porsche Cayenne electric may not be far off now. Prototypes were spotted in the Alps conducting tests. As expected, it will be larger and certainly more audacious than its little brother, the Macan.
Porsche continues development of its electric Cayenne. The first deliveries are expected in 2026. The future large SUV from the brand was spotted a few days ago in the Alps. At first glance, it looks like a Macan. The two vehicles are likely to have aesthetic similarities, even though the camouflage tries to throw people off.
The Cayenne will naturally be much more imposing. In the video published by Car Spy Media, several prototypes can be seen conducting towing tests, climbing slopes, taking corners, and driving on rough terrains. While Porsche has not yet revealed the specifications of this model, we can expect top-notch performance.
First Deliveries Expected in 2026
Based on the new PPE platform, the Macan already develops 630 hp (in Turbo version) and offers a range of 613 km (WLTP cycle). Built on the same foundation, the electric Cayenne will likely offer even more power. It’s hard to say for sure about the range and charging performance of the future model. The Macan is already quite competitive with a 10-80% charge in 21 minutes on a 320 kW charging station.
During the launch of the electric Macan, the brand stated that the vehicle had “retained the Porsche DNA” in terms of design, performance, and dynamics. The electric Cayenne will follow the same path. It will be the fourth 100% electric model from Porsche. Before that, the Stuttgart-based company will also launch a 718 starting in late 2024.
But Porsche will obviously not stop there. After the Cayenne, Oliver Blume, CEO of Porsche, stated that they aim to develop “upwards” with an ultra-luxurious electric SUV. Its performance, size, and price will be even higher than those of the future electric Cayenne. By 2030, the manufacturer estimates that 80% of its sales will be represented by electric vehicles.
