Audi’s electric sedan, the e-tron GT, is facing a massive recall due to a potential fire risk issue.

The details of this recall notice can be found on the official website of the French government. The recall affects the Audi e-tron GT and the RS e-tron GT models.

This recall impacts a large number of the German ‘zero-emission’ sedan units. Specifically, it concerns models manufactured between January 9, 2020, and February 16, 2024.

The issue is related to the battery modules, which have been identified as having fire risks. The government’s Rappel Conso website describes the reasons for the recall as follows:

“Some battery modules may have anomalies in their parameters. This could lead to a defect in the affected modules, increasing the risk of fire.”

Vehicle owners are advised to contact their dealership as soon as possible. The dealership will provide them with instructions on how to address this issue and eliminate the risk.

Unlike in some cases, Audi will not be sending notifications by mail to its customers. Those who own a model affected by this issue must promptly contact the brand’s dealership to initiate the necessary steps.
