Arriving mid-career, the Audi e-tron GT goes through a facelift. A relatively discreet operation on the entry-level model that allows the brand with the rings to clarify the range around three versions, each of which has increased in power.
Just like its counterpart, the Porsche Taycan, the Audi e-tron GT launched in 2021 is getting a facelift. The electric four-door coupe from the ring-wearing manufacturer, a rival of the Tesla Model S, takes the opportunity to rethink its lineup and structure its offering in the same way as traditional models.
Audi is slowly but surely approaching the 1,000 horsepower mark with their range. The Audi S e-tron GT now includes the Audi S e-tron GT, Audi RS e-tron GT, and Audi RS e-tron GT performance. The first model has a power of 679 hp, the second has 856 hp, and the performance model tops the range at 925 hp. Previously, the range consisted of the Audi e-tron GT with 476 hp and the Audi RS e-tron GT with 600 hp.
The Audi e-tron GT’s technical specifications are equally impressive. The Audi S e-tron GT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, the Audi RS e-tron GT in 2.8 seconds, and the Audi RS e-tron GT performance in just 2.5 seconds. The Audi S e-tron GT has a top speed of 245 km/h, while the RS models can reach up to 250 km/h.
The electric motor’s weight on the rear axle has been reduced by about ten kilograms. Engineers have redesigned components such as the rotor and stator to be lighter and optimized the cooling system.
The nose of the Audi RS e-tron GT and Audi RS e-tron GT performance has been redesigned in the style of the Audi RS6 GT, while the Audi S e-tron GT remains unchanged. In addition, the powertrain driveshaft has been strengthened to ensure smoother power distribution. A new standard boost function allows the Audi RS e-tron GT and Audi RS e-tron GT performance to provide a power increase of 70 kW (95 hp) during driving. The driver can activate the boost function using the control button on the left side of the steering wheel. The boost lasts for ten seconds, as indicated by a countdown in the cockpit.
Audi claims a lighter battery of 9 kg (total 625 kg) with a higher energy density. The 105 kWh gross capacity (97 kWh net) offers an estimated range of 609 km. The restyled Audi e-tron GT models are now available for order at the following prices:
