Presented as a concept in October 2023, the Kia EV4 has been spotted on the road. A future competitor for the Tesla Model 3 and BYD Seal, with an expected starting price of around 35,000 euros.

Kia EV4: a medium-sized electric sedan

Alongside the EV3, a small SUV expected by the end of 2024 in Europe, the EV4 will be part of the new electric range from the South Korean manufacturer. After the EV5, EV6, and EV9, Kia completes its range at the lower end with these two new models aimed at more attractive prices. The Kia EV3 is already available for sale at 28,600 euros in South Korea, while the EV4, a medium-sized electric sedan, is expected to be priced at 35,000 euros.

European customers will be able to order the Kia EV3 by the end of 2024. As for the EV4, the development is not as advanced. Orders are expected to be available in 2025. However, a prototype was recently spotted on the road. The model, described as a “new type of electric sedan” by the brand, is currently in the testing phase.

A prototype faithful to the concept

In a recently published video, a prototype that appears to be faithful to the concept is seen: an elegant silhouette with a plunging nose, new vertical lights at the rear, and a small spoiler. According to Kia, the EV4 represents a significant turning point for the brand. The future model would be the perfect demonstration of the manufacturer’s ability “to push the limits and accelerate the electric vehicle revolution.” Quite a program!

If we go by its name, this Kia EV4 will be smaller than the EV6 and could fill an important gap in the electric market. It will be one of the few compact electric sedans on the market. A serious competitor for the Tesla Model 3, BYD Seal, BMW i4, and Hyundai IONIQ 6.
