The 5 Essential Options for Ordering

The 5 Essential Options for Ordering

From one generation to another, the Renault Scénic has radically changed. It was said that the 4th generation, from 2016, had become somewhat “SUV-ized” compared to the previous one. What can we say about the new design that is radically different, losing the monospace minivan look to truly embrace the crossover style. But most importantly, it has become 100% and exclusively electric! While transitioning to zero emissions (from the tailpipe) is not easy for everyone, the new Scénic has a killer argument: autonomy. Up to 625 km, one of the best vehicles currently on the market! However, to fully enjoy it, despite a starting price that shows a fairly attractive price/performance ratio (starting from €35,990 with ecological bonus deducted), you may need to look into options to make it even more appealing. For you, here are the 5 options to check (or uncheck!) in the configurator of the new Renault Scénic E-Tech.

1. Pack navigation with Google integrated

If you opt for the entry-level Renault Scénic, that is, the 170 hp version with what the Diamond brand calls “comfortable autonomy” of 430 km, in the Evolution finish, then you won’t have access to one of the most useful features of the vehicle. Not only will your central screen be 9” and not 12” until the Techno finish, but most importantly, you will miss out on the integrated Google services. We recommend opting for the Navigation Pack priced at €1000 because in addition to integrated Google Maps navigation, like on your smartphone, it also adds the highly successful route planner and automatic battery preconditioning before arriving at a fast charging station. Convenient when traveling! And incidentally, you will also have the wireless phone charger.

2. Optimum charge 22 kW

Renault is making a bold move by being one of the first to offer a 22 kW onboard charger in alternating current. While the vast majority of competitors offer only 7 or 11 kW, this option allows for faster charging at the 22 kW stations that are most common in the territory. A real asset, especially if you don’t have a way to charge at home! The downside is that Renault charges a high price for this option: €2000. So yes, it’s expensive, but it will save time when charging at a public station. The most expensive option in the catalog may not be suitable for everyone (perhaps not needed if you plug in every night), but it can be particularly recommended for the Scénic with “limited” autonomy.

3. 3D 360° camera and driving aids

Under the barbaric name “Augmented Vision & Advanced Driving Assist Pack,” Renault offers many driving aids in one pack. This includes the rearview mirror with a digital camera function, not essential but practical in difficult weather conditions, but especially the 3D Vision 360 camera that displays the surroundings of the car when parking. Hands-free parking is also included, as well as occupant safety alert, blind-spot warning, rear detection with emergency trajectory correction, and reverse exit warning with automatic emergency braking. Available from the small engine/autonomy in Techno finish, this pack is also found on the 220 hp and 625 km autonomy Scénic. Regardless of the model chosen, it is priced at €1000, which, given the number of functions it adds, is as interesting as it is practical in everyday life.

4. Opacifying glass roof

It is undoubtedly one of the most impressive options of the Scénic E-Tech: the Solarbay opacifying glass roof. What was found on the most luxurious cars a few years ago, particularly on Maybach, and is currently only available at Porsche, is making its first foray into a so-called “mainstream” manufacturer. In addition to having a panoramic glass roof to let in light, you can also adjust the opacity as needed. Available only on the high-end Techno Alpine Spirit option (standard on the Iconic option), the opacifying glass roof is priced at €1500, a bit more expensive than a simple panoramic roof or “classic” sunroof.

5. 19-inch wheels

We end with an option… for free! It is the possibility to switch from the 20-inch wheels on the highest-end version to a set of 19-inch wheels. While larger wheels generally look better, the design of the 20” diamond-cut wheels of the Scénic E-Tech 220 hp Grand Autonomy in Techno finish Iconic option (yes, that’s its full name) is quite special. You have to like it. Who said “owning it”? Like with electric vehicles, smaller wheel sizes are generally more efficient, and overall comfort is also better, so opting for the 19” wheels does not seem like a sacrifice.

By considering these 5 options for the new Renault Scénic E-Tech, you can enhance your driving experience and make the most of its advanced features and technology.
