Atlante announces a new partnership with the Banque des Territoires to deploy 500 new fast charging stations across France. Together, the two entities will even create a joint venture called Alpis.

The French office of Atlante and the Banque des Territoires are joining forces to create Alpis, a joint company aimed at deploying and operating over 500 fast charging stations. A project that “fits within the goals of Europe and France to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050,” according to the press release issued for the occasion. Alpis is committed to reducing inequalities in energy access.

With this initiative, Atlante and the Banque des Territoires aim to encourage more people to switch to electromobility. As a result, the future charging stations will be installed in areas where “energy availability is limited” and where there are “network constraints.” This may encourage new drivers in remote regions of France to make the switch to electric vehicles.

Renewable Energy

The two companies specify that the charging stations will be powered 100% by certified renewable energies with origin guarantees and sometimes even with solar energy produced on-site. A battery energy storage system will also be deployed. This will allow users to “benefit from a smoother charging experience, even during peak periods, and at a more advantageous rate.”

Owned 51% by Atlante and 49% by Banque des Territoires, Alpis starts with a capital of €40 million. According to Jacques Galvani, General Manager of Atlante France, “this collaboration with Banque des Territoires perfectly aligns with Atlante’s DNA and goals: making electric and 100% green mobility accessible to everyone throughout the country.”

Already well-equipped with charging stations, France is forging ahead to enable a smooth transition to electric vehicles. According to Pierre Aubouin, Director of the Infrastructure and Mobility Department for Banque des Territoires, “with this partnership, we are strengthening our support for decarbonized mobility and reaffirming our commitment to ecological transformation.”
