When a 40-year-old French utility vehicle outperforms Tesla's Cybertruck

Mocked on social media, the Tesla Cybertruck is being compared by internet users to a Citroën C15 that, in unearthed videos, seems to outperform the American behemoth.

It has been a year since the first Cybertruck rolled out of the factory. Since then, it has been dominating social media platforms. Whether it’s videos of the cubical pick-up truck roaming freely, standing out in today’s automotive landscape. Or the questionable modifications, like the one by American rapper Lil Baby. And then, of course, there are the proud owners who constantly share videos of the electric off-road vehicle’s performances in challenging situations. Or at least situations presented as challenging.

Many of these videos are frankly underwhelming, showing the Cybertruck being touted as “incredible” for doing something as simple as driving on a dirt road without any apparent difficulty. This has turned the Cybertruck into a social media joke, with internet users finding a new hero to rival it: the Citroën C15!

The Citroën C15, a “wonder of French engineering,” has seen its vintage videos resurface to showcase its capabilities that match, and even surpass, the Cybertruck’s. In one video, the C15 effortlessly crosses a muddy field and potholes, then splashes through a puddle with water up to its hood.

But the most amusing comment comes from a video of the Cybertruck crossing a puddle: “Meanwhile, a Spanish farmer in his Citroën C15 comes racing down the road at 58 km/h, carrying three bags of fertilizer and a pregnant sheep in the back.” And that might just be true!

Proof of the C15’s versatility can be seen in a post where a farmer releases three cows from his C15 without needing a bed at the back. It’s questionable whether the Cybertruck could do the same.

In conclusion, the comparisons between the Tesla Cybertruck and the Citroën C15 have sparked humor and highlighted the vintage French van’s enduring capabilities that are hard to overlook.
