The Future Production Location of the Renault Twingo is Finally Revealed

The New Twingo will be unveiled next year. It will be solely electric and will not be produced in France, unlike the Scénic or R5.

Renault’s electric range is becoming increasingly diverse. Despite the retirement of the Zoe, which brought the diamond to where it is today, the manufacturer has built a solid range that is expected to expand even further. After the unveiling of Scénic, R5, and Alpine A290, we can look forward to the R4 by the end of the year, the facelift of the Mégane E-Tech, and the big return of the Twingo, which will be produced exclusively in an electric version. This strong choice by Renault comes as other brands like Fiat are reintroducing thermal options based on electric platforms.

Renault aims to attract the general public with the Twingo, as those who find the R5 too expensive may opt for it. Priced around €20,000, the Twingo will not be produced in France due to the challenges of maintaining profitability at these price levels with French labor costs. Renault will manufacture its future Twingo in Slovenia, where the current electric Twingo is already produced, making a comeback earlier this year through electric leasing. The French group has announced plans to produce around 150,000 electric Twingos per year at full capacity, a significant goal for a car that has returned to its original design, a strategy chosen by Renault for its R5 and R4 models.
