The Lotus Evija X made its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. However, not everything went as planned for the electric hypercar.

As every year in mid-July, the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed took place over the weekend. And like every year, the number of electric cars on display increased.

Romain Dumas set the fastest time with the Ford F-150 Lightning SuperTruck. Freshly crowned at Pikes Peak, the van was not the only silent star at Goodwood.

Lotus brought the impressive Evija X, a radical version of its electric hypercar. With over 2000 horsepower and formidable aerodynamics, it boasts insane performance.

The model now holds the third-fastest time on the famous Nordschleife, in the hands of former driver Dirk Müller, and its appearance at Goodwood was highly anticipated.

Unfortunately, the 2.5 million euro sports car was unable to show its full potential. In fact, it was involved in an accident at the beginning of its first attempt!

Fortunately, hitting bales of straw did not cause any structural damage. So, the bill does not amount to 2.5 million euros for the legendary manufacturer.
