Tesla could finally launch the Roadster, its highly efficient electric coupe. The goal is still to officially present it within the next 12 months.

Since its unveiling in 2017, the highly anticipated second-generation Tesla Roadster is still on the brand’s roadmap, never far off in the horizon.

Elon Musk has been talking about it since its unveiling as a vehicle that could arrive “next year.” The initial release date was set for 2020. Since then, Musk has postponed it every year.

Observers are starting to lose patience and no longer believe it will arrive. Numerous ideas have surfaced for this project, sometimes absurd and sometimes intriguing.

However, in reality, it has never reached the pre-production stage or even prototyping. Nevertheless, according to Elon Musk, this time could be the right one for the Roadster. This is at least what the billionaire assured during the end-of-quarter investor call.

“Regarding the Roadster, we have completed most of the engineering,” Musk assures. “I think there are still some improvements to be made. But we plan to start production of the Roadster next year. It will be something special.”

Should we believe him?
