Traveling around France by electric car is not a common thing. However, to make your life easier and combine utility with pleasure, Michelin is stepping in with its new dedicated guide.
Plugging in on the A7 highway when leaving for vacation is not difficult as this route is now filled with charging stations in both directions. However, once you venture off the well-marked paths, the stations become scarce. You can turn to a route planner to aim accurately and hit the charging points at the right time, or lose yourself and explore France with an electric vehicle mixing utility with pleasure. Sensing the rising trend of electric travel, Michelin has decided to release its own dedicated guide.
The Michelin guide was developed in partnership with Enedis, the manager of the French electricity grid. The idea is to accompany people traveling in France by providing them with the best tips on charging stations near tourist sites or resort areas. The guide notably lists “publicly accessible and identified charging stations near tourist sites, based on their power and number”. It also includes “1500 tourist sites within 500 meters of a charging station”. However, the guide will probably quickly become outdated due to the rapid deployment of stations in certain regions. The cost of the Michelin guide for getting lost in the French territory along with sites and charging areas is €7.95.
Compare the real range of the top electric cars based on our standardized measurement cycle. Battery capacity, consumption, range – we tell you everything!
By providing information on the availability of charging stations and tourist sites near these stations, Michelin’s guide aims to make traveling around France in an electric vehicle more convenient and enjoyable. Whether you are planning a road trip or just exploring new places, having access to this guide can enhance your overall experience.
