The new 3008 has just reached the milestone of 50,000 orders. One out of four is for the electric version.

At a time when French athletes are winning medals, Peugeot is awarding itself one, celebrating the success of the new generation of the 3008.

The vehicle has reached the milestone of 50,000 orders “in just two months of commercialization.” It is worth noting that the 3rd version of the 3008 has been available in French dealerships, its largest market, since March, and in major European markets since May. Order books were finally opened in most countries at the beginning of the year.

Peugeot also seems confused in its communication by titling its press release “New Peugeot e-3008: commercial success with already 50,000 orders.” However, it is revealed later that the electric version represents 25% of the demand. That’s 12,500 units of the e-3008 out of the 50,000.

Peugeot emphasizes that 25% is already well above the market and segment average. This proves the importance of other motorizations, with a mild hybrid of 136 hp and a plug-in hybrid of 195 hp, showing that it is still too early to go all-electric!

For this e-3008 variant, the debut is quite decent, although Tesla has sold a little over 100,000 units of its Model Y in Europe in the first half of 2024… However, the Peugeot is expected to gain momentum with the upcoming variant with an XXL range of 680 km.

While orders are in, the model is still relatively rare on the roads. According to Bloomberg, the start of production was hampered by a shortage of components for the engines.
