The best-selling van in Europe goes electric

Already available in electric, but for the two-tonne Transit, the one-tonne electric Transit shares almost the same technical specifications as its big brother.

Single battery and three electric powertrains

The Ford e-Transit is equipped with a 64 kWh battery. This configuration allows it to travel up to 337 km according to the WLTP cycle, a rather high figure in its segment. With an integrated 11 kW charger, the battery can be fully recharged in less than eight hours. With a fast DC charging station that can reach 125 kW, it is possible to go from 15 to 80% in less than 40 minutes. Similar to the larger e-Transit, customers can choose the optional Pro Power onboard system for recharging electric tools and accessories needed for their work.

Customers can choose powertrains of 100 kW or 160 kW (135 or 217 hp), each offering a torque of 415 Nm. A more powerful 210 kW unit is also available for the E-Transit Custom MS-RT model.

The Transit Custom also offers other powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid variant. This combines a 2.5-liter petrol engine with an 11.8 kWh battery, delivering 233 hp and an all-electric mode range of up to 56 km (WLTP). Ford also offers a diesel version with its 2.0-liter EcoBlue engine, available in three power outputs: 130, 150, and 170 horsepower.

More technologies and safety

Customers can choose between two vehicle lengths, L1 and L2, as well as different body types: Van (load volume up to 6.8 m3), Double cab Van, Kombi, or MultiCab. The L1 and L2 models have three rows of seats, offering up to eight seats. Its payload can reach 1,011 kg, and its towing capacity of 2,300 kg is the best in its class.

The interior is equipped with features that enhance onboard comfort, including a large panoramic glass roof with infrared treatment to protect against sun rays. Additionally, the electric sliding side doors are equipped with hands-free operation.

Surprising steering wheel

The dashboard features a 13-inch touchscreen with the SYNC 4 infotainment system. This system is complemented by new digital instrumentation compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The integration of the front passenger airbag in the roof frees up space in the cabin, allowing for storage of laptop-sized objects in the glove box. The van also features an innovative steering wheel that can be tilted to transform into a tablet.

The E-Transit Custom is available in three trim levels: Active, Sport, and Titanium X. In terms of driving aids, this 100% electric utility vehicle is equipped with intelligent adaptive cruise control, fully active parking assistance, and a 360° camera. It naturally complies with the new GSR2 safety standards.
