Regardless of the taxes imposed on Chinese manufacturers, Dongfeng Group has decided to focus part of its international development on our continent. It is expanding its presence in new countries with three brands.
Dongfeng, which arrived discreetly in Norway with its SUV Voyah Free, is gradually increasing its ambitions on our continent. This includes expanding its offerings and geographical presence. Apart from the classic northern countries of Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands, the Chinese public group is also entering new countries this year: Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Spain. France, on the other hand, is not a priority due to its bonus allocation rules.
Furthermore, Dongfeng has decided to enhance its presence in Europe by expanding its offerings. The premium brand Voyah, with its three models (SUV Free, sedan Passion, and minivan Dreamer), is not the only option from China anymore. In addition to the extravagant 4×4 M-Hero, the Dongfeng brand is formally introducing several new, more affordable models.

The first car to bear the Dongfeng logo in Europe (aside from the few DFSK utility vehicles) will be the small city car Dongfeng Box, known in China as Nammi 01. It is a small sedan measuring 4.03 meters in length with a 326-liter trunk, a 70 kW engine, and a range of 270 km starting from €21,990. This price was communicated before the import tax applied to Chinese electric cars.

Following this first model, the sedan 007 will also be introduced, sold in China under the eπ brand. Its price is yet to be confirmed but is expected to be around €45,000 (without the European tax).
In 2025, Dongfeng is likely to introduce a compact SUV. The range of models is quite diverse, including the possibility of offering plug-in hybrids, as BYD has done. At present, plug-in hybrids are not subject to additional taxes. Also, Voyah is expected to add a C-segment SUV by the end of the year in China and early 2025 in Europe.
With these ambitions, Dongfeng is also prominently positioned among the manufacturers seeking a production plant in Europe or neighboring countries.
