The brand with the double chevron has just unveiled the second generation of its C3 Aircross. Larger than its predecessor (4.39 m compared to 4.16 m), available in 5-seater or 7-seater configurations (an option for €850), with petrol options of 100 hp, a 136 hp micro-hybrid, and a 113 hp electric version, it now competes with different rivals than its predecessor. Furthermore, in terms of pricing, it starts at €19,400 for the 100 hp petrol version, €25,500 for the 136 hp, and €27,400 for the electric one. Let’s take a look at the competition.
1. Opel Frontera: the German cousin
Opel Frontera, while not an exact clone, differentiates itself in terms of the grille (Vizor), rear lights, and dashboard, offering the same features as the C3 Aircross from the same mold. Opel Frontera’s prices have not been officially announced yet, but they are expected to be slightly higher than those of Citroën.
Moving on, Fiat will offer its own version of the recipe in 2025 under the name of the new Multipla.
2. Dacia Duster: the primary target, but without 7-seats or electric version
The Dacia Duster’s third generation is now available at dealerships. Similar in size to the C3 Aircross at 4.34 m, it offers a base price of €19,690 for the Essential version with a 100 hp engine running on petrol or LPG. However, the Duster is only available in a 5-seater configuration and lacks a 100% electric option. It comes with a full-hybrid engine of 140 hp with a larger boot volume than the C3 Aircross.
3. Jogger: aiming high!
Launched at the end of 2021, the Jogger is a large estate car with a rugged look. Priced at €17,990, it is more affordable than the C3 Aircross, offering similar features and a full-hybrid engine option.
4. Renault Symbioz: for a looser budget
Renault Symbioz, an elongated version of the Captur, competes with the C3 Aircross based on similar dimensions. However, it comes at a higher price of €34,900 with a full-hybrid engine of 145 hp and advanced technological features.
5. Skoda Karoq: for those in need of a diesel
With a length of 4.38 m, the Skoda Karoq rivals the C3 Aircross in terms of size but comes at a higher starting price of €34,410. It offers various engine options but lacks an electric or hybrid version, like the C3 Aircross.
This lineup of competitors offers various alternatives to the Citroën C3 Aircross, each with its unique features and pricing considerations.
