The Xiaomi SU7, officially launched in China on March 28, 2024, is a huge success. The company announced that it has surpassed the milestone of delivering 10,000 units in the month of June, marking further progress towards the goal of delivering 120,000 units in 2024.
Xiaomi has reported delivering 10,000 units of its electric sedan in June. This is a significant milestone as it was the target set by the manufacturer as production ramps up. Xiaomi is not stopping there; production will soon increase to 20,000 cars per month. By 2024, the company aims to produce 120,000 units of its SU7.
Xiaomi SU7: 10,000 units delivered in June
If the figure of 10,000 units delivered in June is accurate, it means that electric sedan deliveries increased by 15.66% compared to May. This brings the total sales of the brand to 25,764 units since its launch at the end of March 2024. Priced starting at 215,900 yuan (approximately 27,500 euros), the model is a hit in China, even convincing French expatriates.
The success has led to current customers waiting around 30 weeks to receive their Xiaomi SU7. The wait is even longer for the Max version, the priciest variant of the Chinese electric sedan: 34 weeks. To speed up production, Xiaomi has implemented a double shift production schedule, with the factory now operating 16 hours a day.
Meanwhile, the Chinese brand is also developing an electric SUV, the first prototypes of which were spotted a few days ago. The upcoming model is expected to incorporate several design elements from the sedan. Based on the released images, fans have created their own renderings, resulting in a very elegant vehicle, as shown here:
