The Top 10 Best-Selling Electric Cars in France in the First Half of 2024

Before gradually climbing the rankings from 10th to the top spot, let’s focus on two important exits.

Renault Zoe and Dacia Spring Displaced

It was ranked 8th in the first half of 2023, Renault Zoe is now relegated to 25th place this year, with a 58% decrease in sales. The electric pioneer in France, which was introduced in 2012, is no longer in the catalog as the brand did not update it to comply with the new GSR2 safety standards that came into effect on July 7th.

Zoe has had its time, and the Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric is ready to take over. Another significant exit from the Top 10 is the Dacia Spring, which was in second place last year but is now in 15th place with an 81% decrease in sales. The electric city car from the Romanian brand, manufactured in China, no longer qualifies for eco-bonuses and was not in the Dacia catalog for a while, explaining its poor performance.

In 10th place, the Citroën ë-C4 sees a 165% increase in sales with 4,338 units sold in the first half. The BMW iX1 SUV performs well in 9th place, with a 472% sales increase. The Chinese MG4 experiences a slight decline of 27%, landing it in 8th place. Peugeot E-2008 SUV moves from 10th to 7th place, Tesla Model 3 retains its 6th place with an 8% decrease in sales.

In 5th place, Renault Twingo electric shows a remarkable performance with a 147% increase in sales. Fiat 500 electric, in 4th place, experiences a 17% decrease in sales. Renault Megane E-Tech 100% electric climbs to 3rd place with a 20% increase in sales.

At the top of the ranking, Peugeot E-208 leads with a 44% increase in sales, followed by Tesla Model Y in 2nd place and Renault Megane E-Tech in 3rd place.
